Waisman Center–WECP

Preschoolers (3-4 years old)

The Moonbeam room serves a group of 15 children in a mixed age grouping. Two or three full-time teachers and a part-time assistant teacher staff the classroom.

With a balance of child-directed and teacher-directed activities, children in the Moonbeam room are solidifying their skills playing interactively with other children, in problem-solving and conflict resolution, and in regulating their emotions. They are beginning to work on long-term projects and ways to represent their work through art and literacy activities. Moonbeam children also are beginning to apply their understanding of numbers to real-world situations.
